My coder is trying to persuade me to move to .net from PHP.
I have always disliked the idea because of the costs. But he’s
tryiong none the less. I’ve been using WordPress on various
websites for about a year and am worried about switching to
another platform. I have heard fantastic things about blogengine.net.
Is there a way I can import all my wordpress content into
it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

ASP .NET and the .NET Framework itself is the largest and most amazing set of libraries ever made. Everything is made by Microsoft and believe me, you feel the difference when everything is made by single company, vs open source ecosystem with thousands of different vendors that are not coordinated together.

Last, but not least – the tooling. Visual Studio + Azure is the most productive environment. So for example, you can set a breakpoint in your code, go step by step debug your application. Nothing surprising? In Visual Studio and C# you can not only step forward, but also backward and see what values had the variables in the past? You can do it not only locally, but you can debug your application running remotely in Azure for example.
However, if you are just developing websites based on some CMS WordPress is cool.
